I first started my association with the wine business in 1981 when I purchased a wooden wine box factory located in the old Sunkist complex in Napa California. Our neighbors included a wine cask cooperage, which I think is still there, along with Remy Martin’s first distilling plant. I remember them well, because the fumes from their giant copper kettle, permeated our factory floor, making for a happy and contented work force most of the time.
One of the first people I had the pleasure of dealing with was Gil Nickel of Far Niente. Matter of fact our first meeting was in the parking lot of his very first winery in Sausalito. We were out in the hot sun because he had just rented a mobile bottling trailer to handle filling operations for one of his first releases. Those were the days! Those of you who either knew Gil, or have enjoyed his wines know what a great job he did with his vision.
In the wine box business we did work for the the Jordon’s, the Disney’s, the Sebastiani’s, and many others, which gave me an appreciation for the quality, consistency, and passion that it takes to create something especially special. Hence, in 2007 I acquired an 8 acre artisan weld and finishing operation to produce what we feel are the most exciting and unique racking systems, and specialty wine furniture ever offered for temperature controlled premiere wine cellars. Here’s a look at our production facilities located in Central Arkansas.
